'Daylight Trains' is the most well known paint scheme among
model railroaders of all ages. The striking orange and red scheme
is recognizable at any distance as the 'Daylight'. The 'Daylight'
Scheme is very popular and very well known to railroad fans
all over the world.
The introduction
of the 'Daylight' 4-8-4 GS-4 engines with matching train sets
in the late 1930's was perhaps the zenith of rail passenger

the famous 'Daylight' trains.
The Con-Cor 'N' Scale
GS-4 'Daylight' will be built on the same 4-8-4 platform as
our 'N' S-2 Northern model which has received high praise from
everyone for its smooth running and pulling power. The 'Daylight'
will feature a powerful 5 pole skewed armature motor, fine handrails
and lots of factory added tiny detail parts. Also the model
will include a completely new GS-4 tender with the correct trucks
and many fine details.
The model will include a DCC friendly Printed Circuit board with the NMRA 8 pin DCC connector for ease in adding a DCC decoder of your choice. (Decoder is not included in the price of the model.)
The GS-4 'Daylight'
engines that were dedicated to specific trains had the train
logos painted on the side of the skirting near the front of
the boiler Many model fans do not realize that there was a series
of trains painted in the same orange and red scheme, but carried
various names such as:
